Sievers Point is considered to be the best land based whale watching area in Hermanus. It is midway between the town centre and the blue flag swimming beaches of Hermanus and abuts onto the cliff path with a green belt of Fynbos connecting the lodge and Sievers Point. The Fynbos green belt attracts a vast variety of birds.
Abalone is an unusually artistic guest lodge with exclusive SA artwork incorporated into the décor. The following services and facilities are available: Secured Parking, Dinner restaurant, luggage storeroom, Laundry service, an infrared sauna, salt water swimming pool, treatment room, gym, free wireless internet. The lodge has free Wi-Fi in all the rooms and public areas.
A treatment room for aromatherapy massages and reflexology including beauty treatments are available by prior arrangement and promises to be a very relaxing and pleasant experience. This service is rented out to the lodge and public and trades under the name Abalone Wellness Centre.
A turn down service with a good night chocolate and the following day's weather can be expected from 19h00 at night.
